Additionally, Owkin leads several federated learning consortia, including; MELLODDY, to facilitate 'co-opetive' drug discovery between pharma companies, and Healthchain, to allow collaborative research across multiple hospitals. Owkin was co-founded in 2016 by Thomas Clozel, MD, a clinical research doctor and former assistant professor in clinical hematology, and by Gilles Wainrib, Ph.D., an academic pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence in biology.
