Ian Carlson

Ian Carlson has work experience in various roles and companies.

From October 2020 to the present, Ian worked as a Software Engineer at Owl Cyber Defense.

Prior to that, from June 2015 to October 2020, they worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Collins Aerospace. In this role, they developed software for embedded Linux-based cryptographic modules, worked with cryptographic algorithms to ensure module security, developed software for micro-controllers and System-On-Chip, utilized Secure Boot and related technologies for hardware security, and created a test pool for hardware resource sharing.

From May 2014 to May 2015, Ian worked as an Intern at Raven Industries.

From September 2013 to May 2015, they were a Computer Science Teaching Assistant at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where they assisted faculty by teaching lab sources for introductory computer science and assembly language courses.

Lastly, from July 2010 to August 2013, they worked as an Engineering Intern at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

Ian Carlson earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from South Dakota Mines, where they attended from 2009 to 2013. Ian then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computational Sciences and Robotics at the same institution, completing their studies from 2013 to 2015.
