David Jar

David Jar is the managing director at Owl Rock. David has over fifteen years of experience in the financial industry.

Jar began their career at Lehman Brothers in 2005 as an associate and analyst in the leveraged finance and debt capital markets group. In 2008, Lehman Brothers was acquired by Barclays Capital, and Jar remained with the company until 2010. David then moved to Goldman Sachs, where they worked in the natural resources financing group within the investment banking division. While at Goldman Sachs, Jar was promoted to vice president.

In 2013, Jar left Goldman Sachs to join KKR as a principal in the capital solutions group. David remained with KKR for two years before joining Solar Capital Partners, LLC as an investment professional in 2015. At Solar Capital Partners, Jar led the software/technology industry vertical.

In 2019, Jar joined Owl Rock as managing director.

David Jar earned their BS in finance and international business from NYU Stern School of Business.
