Graeme Smith is the SVP of External Affairs at Oxbotica. Before joining Oxbotica, they were Chief Engineer, Connected Intelligent Vehicle, Electronics & Software at Ricardo from October 2011 to December 2013. Graeme was recruited as part of new Connected Intelligent Vehicle group focusing on bringing connected services to Ricardo’s existing product portfolio and have driven new sales in this area with existing and new clients, in the High Performance and Passenger Car sector. Graeme was responsible for creating new products and approaches in an internal start-up, and developing project teams of engineers to deliver new business. Graeme transitioned in January 2012 to wider responsibilities including Electronics and Software Business Management, responsible for re-vitalising a profitable part of Ricardo’s business. Some of their notable successes include in-car infotainment, electronics development, rapid prototyping systems, AUTOSAR, and autonomous vehicles. Graeme was also an Expert Witness on 20 November 2013 to a House Of Commons Select Committee on Autonomous Vehicles.
Graeme Smith studied at Henley Business School where they received their MBA in Business. Graeme also studied PRINCE2 at PRINCE2. Graeme is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Engineer. Graeme received their PhD in Robotics and Control Systems from the University of Hertfordshire. Graeme also holds a BSc (Hons) in Electronic Systems and Control Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University.
