Maureen Newman has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the Oxbow company. Maureen started as a Financial Analyst/Project Manager in 1993 and later became the Director of Finance & Administration, where they successfully launched a new startup entity and managed start-up funding. In 2003, they were promoted to Vice President of Administration, responsible for evaluating and managing the growth of Oxbow after acquiring their largest competitor. Maureen further advanced to become the Senior Director of Commercial Business Solutions, leading the company-wide conversion to ORACLE and managing commercial contracts and fulfillment components of the system. During this time, they also earned their PMP certification and actively facilitated communication and education among team members.
Maureen Newman has a diverse education history. Maureen began their academic journey in 1985 at Ocean County College, where they pursued an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Accounting until 1987. Maureen then transferred to Florida Atlantic University and studied there from 1987 to 1990, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting. Maureen continued their education at Florida Atlantic University from 1991 to 1992 and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance.
In addition to their academic achievements, Maureen Newman has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1992, they became a Certified Public Accountant through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Later on, in 2014, they obtained the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Most recently, in 2019, they became a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt through the Lean Six Sigma Corporation.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that Maureen Newman holds the Advanced Open Water certification from PADI, which was obtained in 1999, although the specific month is unknown.
