Thomas W. Garges, Jr.

Thomas W. Garges, Jr. has served as a Director of Oxbow Carbon LLC since 2009, when he retired as President and CEO of Pittston Coal Company, a position he had held for six years. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company for eleven years. Mr. Garges was Senior Vice President of Sun Coal Company for two years, Executive Vice President of Pittston Coal Company for five years and Vice President of Koch Carbon, Inc. for six years. He held the position of Manager of Mines, Jewell Ridge Coal Corporation for five years and served as General Superintendent and Chief Engineer for Union Carbide's Mining and Metals Division for five years. He holds a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering from West Virginia University and was a Professional Engineer for over forty years. Mr. Garges also was a Director for S&T Bancorp, Inc. for ten years. In addition, he has served on the boards of the American Mining Congress, the National Mining Association and numerous state mining associations.
