Jon-Paul Griffiths

Jon-Paul Griffiths has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry. In 2004, they began as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Oxford, where they developed a core technology platform based around the use of reactive intermediate carbenes for the surface modification of inert materials. This work generated two patent families and ultimately resulted in the spin out of Oxford Advanced Surface Ltd from the Chemistry department at the University of Oxford. From 2006, Jon-Paul held the roles of Director, Chief Technology Officer, and Managing Director at Oxford Advanced Surfaces Ltd. In 2022, they began their current role as Chief Technology Officer of OXECO, a chemtech company focused on commercialising and extracting value out of the ONTO™ surface treatemnt technology platform by developing and manufacturing products for upcoming breakthrough innovations.

Jon-Paul Griffiths received their PhD in Organic Chemistry from Nottingham Trent University in 2004 and their MChem in Chemistry from the same university in 2000. In March 2021, they were awarded a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
