Alivelu Ramisetty

Alivelu Ramisetty, Ph.D, has a diverse work experience in the field of gender justice and inclusion. Alivelu has held various roles at Oxfam America, including Chief Gender Justice and Inclusion Officer, Director of the Gender Justice and Inclusion Hub, Associate Director of Gender Justice, and Interim Director of Gender Justice at Oxfam International. Prior to their work at Oxfam, they served as a Senior Global Gender Advisor and Global Gender Advisor. Alivelu also worked as a Gender Advisor at UNDP and as a Gender Specialist in Disaster Risk Management at UNDP in India.

Alivelu Ramisetty holds a Ph.D in Political Science from Tripura University, which they earned from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Sociology at the University of Hyderabad from 1990 to 1992. Before their MPhil, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Sociology from the University of Hyderabad between 1988 and 1990. Additionally, they completed their Master of International Policy and Practice with a focus on Global Gender Studies at The George Washington University from 2011 to 2013.
