Farah Abbas has extensive work experience in technology and information management. Farah worked at Oxfam America from 2010 to 2018, holding various roles such as Director of Technology and Information Management, Shared Services Applications Senior Manager, Shared Services Applications Manager, HRIS Manager, and HRIS Specialist. During their time at Oxfam America, Farah was involved in implementing and managing various software systems including Oracle, Cornerstone, and Jobvite. Farah also led the implementation of Oracle HR and Oracle Advanced Benefits and designed and rolled out a performance management system globally. Prior to their work at Oxfam America, Farah worked as a Senior Consultant at Oracle from 1994 to 1998, where they developed electronic commerce and network computing applications for Fortune 500 clients and received an Outstanding Project Team Award.
Farah Abbas obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brown University, where they studied from 1990 to 1993. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained certifications in IT Service Management from PeopleCert and Axelos, receiving the ITIL Foundation Certificate in November 2017. Furthermore, they hold a certification in Project Management for Non-Profit Development from Humentum, which they obtained in June 2013.
