John Kirk

John is the Academic Registrar and Director of Academic and Student Administration (ASA) at Oxford Brookes University.

John has worked in various university roles for the last 21 years, including 15 years at the University of Birmingham, working in roles in the Student Union, Marketing, Strategic and Financial Planning and Registry.

As Academic Registrar since September 2016, John provides leadership of academic and professional support services in relation to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Directorate of ASA works closely with colleagues in the academic Faculties and other Directorates.

The Directorate is organised into 4 divisions - Strategic Change and Planning, Registry, Academic Policy and Regulations, and Student Services.

Outside work, John enjoys spending time with his family and playing (to a very low standard) and watching various sports.
