Steven Evans

Deputy Director, Product at OCR

Steven Evans has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Steven started their career at the Royal Society of Chemistry as a Team Manager from 1998 to 2005. Steven then joined OCR as a Qualifications Team Manager, where they managed the GCE Sciences/Entry Level Science team and became a market leader in A level Chemistry. At Cambridge Assessment, Steven worked as the Head of KS4 Science Curriculum & Qualification Development. Steven returned to OCR as the Assistant Head of General Qualifications Reform, where they led the development of OCR Science qualifications and played a key role in the development of the new A level science endorsement. Steven later became the Head of General Qualifications Reform and Head of Product Development at OCR, overseeing the management and development of various qualifications and products. Currently, they hold the role of Deputy Director, Product at OCR, responsible for product development and facilitating business-wide projects for the directorate.

Steven Evans completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of York from 1992 to 1995. Steven then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from the same university, graduating in 1998. Currently, they are enrolled in the University of Cambridge and is expected to complete a Master of Arts (MA) degree in 2021.
