Jonathan Edgeworth has a diverse work experience in the medical field. jonathan is currently working as the VP Medical Affairs at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Professor of Clinical Infectious Diseases and Founding Director of CIDR at King's College London starting from 2011. In 2002, they joined Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Microbiologist and Associate Medical Director. jonathan also served as the Medical Director of Viapath, a joint venture partnership involving a major academic health sciences center, from 2011 to 2020.

Jonathan Edgeworth has a diverse and extensive education history. jonathan began their academic journey in 1983 at King's College London, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Immunology. After completing their undergraduate studies in 1986, they joined Cancer Research UK to further their research in Immunology and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1989.

Seeking to expand their knowledge and skills, Jonathan enrolled in the University of Cambridge from 1989 to 1991. During this period, they studied Medicine and obtained an MB BChir degree.

In 1995, they enrolled at the University of London to pursue a Master of Science degree in Clinical Microbiology, which they completed in 1997.

Jonathan's pursuit of knowledge did not end there. jonathan continued their educational endeavors as a post-doctoral fellow at the Pasteur Institute from 1998 to 2000. Their research focus during this period centered around Bacterial Pathogenesis.

Throughout their education, Jonathan has consistently shown a dedication to the field of immunology and microbiology, building a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise in these areas.
