Michael Micorescu

Michael Micorescu has extensive experience in the biotechnology field, with a current role as Director of Technical Services for Production Scale Sequencing at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since September 2014. Previously, Michael served as Associate Director of Global Field Applications and Technical Applications Manager at the same company. Prior to joining Oxford Nanopore, Michael worked at GENEWIZ, Inc. as a Senior Scientific Specialist and Technical Specialist. Michael's career began as a Post-doctoral Researcher at Oregon Health & Science University, focusing on molecular mechanisms of neuronal plasticity and GABA receptor function. Michael holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Portland State University, awarded in 2010.
