Stephen Pascoe

Stephen Pascoe has extensive experience in the field of data engineering and software development. Stephen worked at Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd from 2015, starting as a Senior Data Engineer and later becoming an Associate Director of Data Engineering. In their role, they developed and maintained data infrastructure as part of the Data Integration group, and was responsible for developing the company's next generation internal data analysis pipeline. In 2022, they were promoted to the role of Director of Software Engineering.

Prior to their time at Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd, Stephen worked at STFC from 2012 to 2014 as the Technical Manager for Atmospheric Sciences. Stephen then worked at the British Atmospheric Data Center from 2003 to 2012 as a Data Scientist and Software Engineer, where they managed the CEDA developer team and maintained the BADC's Earth System Grid infrastructure.

Stephen Pascoe holds a PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry Informatics from the University of Leeds. Stephen'sdoctoral research focused on expert systems for atmospheric chemical kinetics. In addition, they have obtained a certification in Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera Course Certificates in July 2016.
