Tonya McSherry

Tonya McSherry, MBA, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Tonya currently serves as the Vice President, EMEA Sales at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Illumina from 2012 to 2021, where they held several positions including District Sales Manager, Associate District Sales Manager, Executive Territory Account Manager, Market Development Manager, and Product Manager. At Illumina, they managed teams, developed operational solutions, and drove sales and marketing campaigns. Before joining Illumina, Tonya worked at TGen as a Lab Manager/Staff Research Associate III, where they implemented strategies to optimize project timelines, managed budgets, and trained staff. Tonya also gained research experience at FibroGen, the University of California, San Francisco, Kent BioEnergy, and Pacific T-Shirt Company. Tonya started their career as a Student Research Assistant at the University of San Diego, where they conducted molecular and behavioral assays and sequenced cDNAs.

Tonya McSherry, MBA, earned their Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of San Diego from 2001 to 2003. Tonya later pursued their Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Arizona - Eller College of Management from 2010 to 2011.
