Project Engineer and Team Leader at Oxford Space Systems

Mario Corso is an experienced engineer with a background in mechanical and thermal design. Mario began their career in 2015 as a Master Thesis Student at DLR, where they developed modelling, dynamic analysis and robotic control strategies during deorbiting operations of the ESA Satellite Envisat. In 2016, they joined Thales Alenia Space as a Mechanical and Thermal Engineer, responsible for the mechanical and thermal design of satellite RF, digital and power electronic equipments, Finite Element modelling and analysis as well as attending and supervising experimental test campaigns. In 2018, they moved to Airbus as a Technology and Packaging Engineer, responsible for the mechanical and thermal design of electronic units from the Architecture Phase to the Qualification Phase and delivery of flight units. Currently, they are employed at Oxford Space Systems as a Project Engineer and Team Leader, responsible for determination of project specification and requirements management, product development planning accordingly with the design maturity level, resources and tasks planning in collaboration with the Project Manager, customer reporting and presentations. Mario is also a Senior Mechanical and Thermal Engineer, responsible for the design development of deployable structures projects, technical analyses (mechanical-structural, thermal, thermo-elastic, dynamic-vibration), creation of design concepts, technical drawing as well as analysis reports and test plans. Mario also supports the business development team by preparing technical proposals, attending to industrial conferences and preparing technical papers.

Mario Corso has a Master's degree in Space and Astronautical Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Mario also has a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the same university, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. In addition, Corso has obtained several certifications, such as Basic Adams Training from MSC Software in 2021, IELTS Academic with an overall band score of 7 from Cambridge English Language Assessment in 2016, and Pegasus Degree Certification from Pegasus - European Network of Excellence in Aerospace Engineering Education in 2016.
