Vincent Fraux

Co-Founder | Chief of Concepts and Future Products at Oxford Space Systems

Vincent Fraux has had a long and varied career in the space industry. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Design/Manufacture Engineer at Mersen - Boostec, where they reviewed Silicon Carbide telescope part drawings for feasibility, designed tools and procedures for manufacturing steps, and checked and adjusted the applicability of manufacture drawings and procedures. In 2008, Fraux moved to Airbus Defence and Space (Space Systems, Inc.) as a Mechanical Engineer, where they were responsible for mechanical design of feed chain products, acted as focal point for all competences, and scheduled all design and manufacturing steps for on-time delivery. Vincent was later promoted to CAD Design Team Leader, where they were responsible for numeric model and drawings production (Catia V5) of the ASTRA series satellite structure, managed a team of up to five people, and was involved in CAD Process and cost recording development. In 2011, Fraux earned an MSc in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University. In 2012, they became a Lead Mechanical Engineer at ABSL Space Products, where they worked on space deployable structures. Finally, in 2013, Fraux co-founded Oxford Space Systems (OSS) and held the roles of Chief Mechanical Systems Engineer, Technical Specialist - Mechanical Systems, and Head of Design and Head of M.A.I.T.

Vincent Fraux began their education in 1999, when they completed their Science Baccalaureat at Lycee Jean Monnet - Montpellier. Vincent then attended IUT Toulouse from 2002 to 2004, where they earned a DUT Mechanical and Production Engineering and Aerospace Technology. Vincent continued their studies at Kingston University from 2004 to 2006, graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Aerospace Engineering and Astronautics. Lastly, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Astronautics and Space Engineering at Cranfield University from 2011 to 2012.
