Katie Helke is a seasoned editorial professional with extensive experience in acquisitions within academic publishing. Currently serving as a Senior Acquisitions Editor at Oxford University Press since October 2023, Katie focuses on acquiring titles for the Biology list. Previous roles include Associate Acquisitions Editor at The MIT Press since August 2014, where responsibilities encompass acquiring books in Science, Technology, and Society, as well as roles as Acquisitions Editor and Assistant Acquisitions Editor in related fields. Katie's editorial journey began at The MIT Press in 2007, progressing from Acquisitions Assistant to Associate Editor, and includes experience as a freelance editor specializing in scholarly works and assistance for ESL clients. In addition to editorial work, Katie founded and directed Knit for Boston, a nonprofit connecting knitters with local charities.
