Mark McCree

Mark McCree serves as the Head of Libraries and Heritage at Oxfordshire County Council since January 2022, overseeing libraries, museums, and history services. Prior to this role, Mark was the Head of Libraries at Blackpool Council from January 2018 to January 2022, where significant improvements were made, including the abolition of library fines and the implementation of a performance management framework. Mark also held the position of National Library Manager at RNIB from October 2014 to January 2018, achieving substantial growth in customer numbers through a strategic service review. Earlier experience includes roles as Collections Access Manager and Project Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, focusing on collections management and various projects related to library services. Mark began a career in publishing as the Editor of the Public Libraries Journal from 2003 to 2007 and holds a Master's degree in Librarianship from The University of Sheffield.
