Alan Hanson

Software at Oxide Computer Company

Alan Hanson has worked in the software engineering industry since 1995. Alan began their career as a System Administrator at Sun Microsystems before becoming a Member Technical Staff at 3PAR in 2000. In 2003, they returned to Sun Microsystems as a Staff Engineer, where they worked on the Solaris kernel, x64 ILOM service processor team, and developed test tools in C, Bash shell, and Expect for both Linux and Solaris. In 2011, they joined DSSD / EMC / Dell as a Software Sr. Principal Engineer, where they wrote code in C on a high performance NVMe NAND Flash Storage product. In 2018, they moved to CryptoMove as a Senior Software Engineer and Principal Software Engineer, where they were hired as a C programmer coding for the backend team, but grew to lead customer projects and design overall infrastructure. Alan updated the backend to support RedHat, OpenSSL, FIPS and delivered a Kubernetes version of CryptoMove. In 2021, they joined Oxide Computer Company as a Software Engineer.

Alan Hanson attended San Francisco State University from 1989 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
