David Pacheco has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. David started their career as an Engineering Intern at Google in 2005 and later worked as an Engineering Intern at Sun Microsystems in 2006.

In 2007, they joined Sun Microsystems as a Member of Technical Staff, where they designed, developed, and tested software for the Sun 7000 series of Storage appliances, specializing in software related to RAS features, ZFS-based remote replication, NDMP backup, and HTTP/WebDAV support. David worked in this role until March 2010.

Following their time at Sun Microsystems, David joined Oracle Corporation in February 2010 as a Senior Software Engineer. David worked on the Sun Microsystem's Fishworks team, primarily focusing on software for the Sun Storage 7000 series appliances. David contributed to remote replication, backup/restore, phone home, and RAS features. David was also part of the team as a Tech lead for the 2009 Q3 software release for the Sun Storage 7000 series appliances. David's tenure at Oracle Corporation ended in September 2010.

Later in 2010, David joined Joyent as a Software Engineer. During their time at Joyent, they played a leading role in the development of several distributed systems, including the Manta object store and the Cloud Analytics service. David developed widely-used tooling for debugging Node.js programs using DTrace, with a specific focus on production systems. David left Joyent in July 2019.

Most recently, David joined Oxide Computer Company in December 2019 as a Software Engineer. No end date has been provided for this role.

David Pacheco attended Brown University from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a degree in computer science with a focus on computer systems. David successfully completed their studies and obtained a Sc.B degree.
