Lucy Townsend

Lucy Townsend is a seasoned human resources professional with extensive experience across various sectors, currently serving as the Global People Director at Oxitec since February 2025. Prior to this role, Lucy held significant positions at YASA, where responsibilities included both Human Resources Director and Head of Human Resources, and at Animal Dynamics Limited as Head of People, contributing to innovative aerospace solutions. Previous experience includes serving as HR Manager at the University of Oxford, managing HR services for the Department of Engineering Science, and as HR Adviser at Oxfam, providing consultancy support on operational HR matters. Lucy's early career involved various HR roles at Oxfordshire County Council, building a strong foundation in human resources administration. Lucy holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Psychology from Coventry University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Oxford Brookes University, and a BA (Hons) in Social Psychology from the University of Sussex.
