Steve Lancefield has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Steve started their career as a Counselor at Christie Lake Kids, where they worked with at-risk youth to provide a safe and enriching summer experience. In 2012, they served as the Director of Global Engineering and co-Director of National Engineering Month at Engineers Without Borders, responsible for organizing events and logistics.
Upon entering the field of engineering, Steve joined EllisDon in 2013, initially as a Student Support in the OLRT Constructors, MSF Department. Steve gained experience in project management assistance, environmental management, and surveying for the Ottawa Light Rail Transit project. Steve continued their journey with EllisDon as a Field Engineering Assistant in 2014 and a Project Coordinator from 2015 to 2017. In these roles, they contributed to several large-scale projects and implemented new quality assurance and design iteration programs.
In 2014, Steve also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Queen's University, managing and mentoring first-year engineering design project teams. Steve later served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto in 2019.
Steve's experience in the biotechnology industry includes their role as a Research and Development Engineer at Polumiros Inc. in 2019. There, they were involved in the product development of an immunomodulatory polymer platform technology.
Currently, Steve is employed at Oxygen8 since 2020, initially as a Product Development Engineering and later transitioning to the role of a Product Manager in 2022.

Steve Lancefield attended Queen's University from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve also acquired the Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification from Professional Engineers Ontario in November 2022.
