Chris Cowan has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. Chris started their career as an Engineering Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara College of Engineering in 1999, where they designed and built electro-mechanical test equipment. Chris also developed analytical models for non-destructive evaluation of nuclear reactor steel. In 2003, Chris joined Bechtel National as a Mechanical Engineer until 2005. Chris then moved to Ozen Engineering, Inc. as a Project Engineer in 2005 and later became the Director of Operations in 2010. Currently, Chris holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at Ozen Engineering, Inc. where they manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, leads product development consulting services, and conducts research and development activities.
Chris Cowan completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Materials Engineering (Structural Mechanics) from UC Santa Barbara from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the same institution from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Chris Cowan also obtained the Ansys Associate Certification in Heat Transfer in Structures from Ansys in January 2023.
