Ashoke Bhattacharjee

Ashoke Bhattacharjee has extensive work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. From 2012 to 2017, Bhattacharjee served as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Melinta Therapeutics, where they led a team of scientists in the development of new antibiotics. Ashoke also worked as an Associate Director and Research Scientist at Melinta Therapeutics from 2010 to 2011 and 2002 to 2009, respectively.

Prior to joining Melinta Therapeutics, Bhattacharjee worked as a Research Associate at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where they conducted total synthesis of macrocyclic salicylate natural products and achieved the first total synthesis of Apicularen A. Ashoke also completed the synthesis of a major fragment of the dimeric polyketide natural product SCH 351448.

Bhattacharjee's earlier experience includes working as a Research Associate at Stevens Institute of Technology, contributing to research projects, and as a Graduate Student at Indian Institute of Chemical Biology.
