Robert Furter

Robert Furter has extensive experience in psychometrics and data operations, currently serving as Chief Data Officer and Principal Psychometrician at the PA Education Association since September 2021. Prior roles include Senior Director positions in Research & DataOps and Assessment, as well as a Psychometrician role at the same organization. Robert also lectures at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since January 2016 and held positions at the American Board of Pediatrics as a Senior Psychometrician and Psychometrician from August 2014 to August 2021. Early career experiences include a psychometric internship at The College Board, graduate assistantship, and a research fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Robert holds an MBA, a PhD in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation, and a Master of Science in the same field, all from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Georgia.

PAEA is the national organization representing physician assistant (PA) educational programs in the United States. We serve as a resource for individuals and organizations from various professional sectors interested in the educational aspects of the PA profession. We are the organization primarily responsible for collecting, publishing, and disseminating information on the PA programs. We provide effective representation to affiliated organizations involved in health education, health care policy, and the national certification of PA graduates. We work to ensure quality PA education through the development and distribution of educational services and products specifically geared toward meeting the emerging needs of PA programs, the PA profession, and the health care industry.
