Joy Elliott has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Joy started their career as a student at Cal Poly Pomona in 1990, where they held various student roles until 1994. In 1990, they also took on the role of Project Director at the Dunbar Economic Development Corporation, which lasted until 1995. From 2001 to 2009, they served as the Development Project Manager for Citizens of South Central Los Angeles. In 2001, they also became the Principal at Content Development LLC, where they worked until 2018. From 2002 to present, Joy has been a Real Estate Broker under their own name, and they have also held various roles at Los Angeles Community College District since 2002. Joy joined Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment in 2010 as the Director of Real Estate & Community Development, a position they still hold. In 2016, they became a Broker Associate at Calabash Real Estate, and in 2018, they took on the same role at Michel Daley Realty. Between 2010 and 2015, they were also a Director at PACE. Overall, Joy brings a wealth of experience in real estate, community development, and project management to their roles.
Joy Elliott completed their undergraduate education at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Urban Planning from 1990 to 1994. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at UCLA, obtaining a Master's degree (M.A.) in Urban and Regional Planning from 1994 to 1996. Alongside this, they also obtained a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from UCLA during the same period. Prior to their time at UCLA, Joy Elliott attended Andrews University from 1986 to 1989, studying Architecture, though they did not complete a degree in that field.
