PACIFIC INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH AND EVALUATION
Laura Garrison is an experienced professional in the fields of editing, research, and science communication. Currently serving as a Productions Associate and Editor at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation since February 2017, Laura also works independently as a freelance editor, focusing on medical and social science editing for academic and non-academic research professionals in public health. With a background as an Associate Scientist 2 at the University of New Mexico since May 2014, Laura has coordinated NIH-funded research and managed multiple studies related to substance use and maternal-child health. Previous roles include Research Assistant II at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, where Laura contributed to various qualitative research projects, and Instructor for a Media Literacy course at McDaniel College. Laura holds a Master’s Degree in Ethnology from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Affairs from McDaniel College, along with a certificate in Community Engagement from Stellenbosch University.
