Derek Higgins

Derek Higgins, MBA, EVP, PMP, has extensive experience in management and security across various sectors. Currently serving as the Office of Radiological Security Response Portfolio Manager at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since August 2009, Derek leads the Technical Security Solutions Team, overseeing staff development and managing national security partnerships with top-tier institutions. Previous roles include Regional Project Manager at the same laboratory, where responsibilities included leading cross-functional teams, authoring technical white papers, and ensuring compliance with security recommendations. Derek also held leadership positions in student organizations during education at Whitworth University and gained practical experience as an Air Export Intern at Expeditors International. Derek holds an MBA from Washington State University and a BA in Economics from Whitworth University.
