Michelle Tang is a highly skilled researcher with extensive experience in plant biology and genetics. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Pacific Northwest Research Institute since March 2020, Michelle specializes in yeast genetics and surrogate genetics related to rare disease genes. Previously, Michelle completed a Ph.D. in Plant Biology at the University of California, Davis, where research focused on the transcriptional regulatory network of primary metabolism in Arabidopsis. Additional research experience includes undergraduate research on plastome structural evolution in Brassicales at the University of Missouri, participation in the NSF REU program for gene cloning at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, and tutoring in biological sciences. Michelle is a recipient of the UW GTG Fellow award in 2022.
