Matthew Risser

Director, Human Systems Integration at Pacific Science & Engineering

Matthew Risser has a diverse work experience in various research and scientific roles. Matthew started their career in 1995 as a Research Associate at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where they conducted sleep and driving performance research. Matthew also managed FDA clinical pharmaceutical research during their tenure. In 2001, they joined Old Dominion University as a Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to research projects until 2004. Later, in 2005, they became a Research Associate II at Eastern Virginia Medical School before moving to Pacific Science & Engineering as a Senior Human Factors Scientist. At Pacific Science & Engineering, they performed human systems integration and human factors engineering analyses and testing for various Navy systems. In 2010, Matthew became the Director of Human Systems Integration at the same company, where they continue to serve.

Matthew Risser completed their education at Old Dominion University. Matthew began their academic journey in 1991, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology in 1995. Matthew then pursued further studies, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Psychology from the same institution between 1995 and 1998. Matthew's educational journey culminated in obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology; Human Factors from Old Dominion University, which they completed from 2000 to 2005.
