Joel Peterson

Joel Peterson is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in substation engineering and electrical management. Currently serving as the Director of Substation Engineering Design at PacifiCorp since April 2023, Joel has previously held roles including Substation Lead Project Engineer at Leidos and Manager of Substation Tech Support at PacifiCorp. With extensive expertise in project scope assessment, design development, customer relations, and interdisciplinary engineering management, Joel has worked on projects involving voltages ranging from 7.2 to 500kV. Earlier experience includes serving as the Electrical Engineering Manager at Forest Grove Light & Power and as a Regional Permitting and Inspections Coordinator at SolarCity. Joel holds a degree in Renewable Energy Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology.
