Derik Smith

Derik Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the packaging industry, currently serving as the General Manager at Packaging Corporation of America since October 2013. In this role, Derik leads multi-site teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive operational excellence. Prior positions include General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager, and Field Sales Manager at PCA, focusing on safety, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth. Prior to PCA, Derik held roles at Boise Inc. as a Field Sales Manager and Audit Analyst, where significant contributions were made to process improvement and M&A activities. Derik has also worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at BYU-Idaho, teaching automotive systems and mentored students in their career decisions. Derik holds a Master of Engineering in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a degree in Automotive Technology Management from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
