Alyona holds a Master’s Degree in Education. She is a Ukrainian citizen with over 25 years of experience in international development projects through which she has gained a deep understanding of local and national issues and ways of engaging citizens, strengthening governmental policy and service delivery, and collaborating with the private sector to increase social impact. She led and oversaw program implementation in areas such as health and social services, child welfare and vulnerable children services. She was honored with the Ukrainian President’s Award in 2008 and by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports in 2009 for her significant personal contributions to policy development promoting family welfare and child protection. Alyona is a certified fundraiser and an author of training modules on community mobilization. Under Alyona’s leadership, Pact's Ukraine Country Office piloted several initiatives aimed at the development of social enterprises as well as the measurement of social impact. Alyona currently leads the implementation of Pact's Global Affairs Canada-funded women’s empowerment and gender equality program portfolio in Ukraine.
