Allan McLennan is the Founder, Chief Executive of the PADEM Media Group and a recognized Global Market Technologist, category analyst and company growth advisor. It has been written that Allan has been instrumental in the advancement and understanding of the complete digital media chain in the creation, targeting and intelligent streaming in the delivery of content and audience engagement over IP distribution networks. Allan is a veteran media, entertainment & technology executive and board member with more than 25 years of experience growing emerging technologies and IP media offerings sometimes from ground zero or in transition into digital migration for billion dollar businesses. Known for his strategic vision, management style, experience in navigating market transitions and active go-to-market executions have had him participating in the creation/innovation, deployment and acquisition of new consumer engagement products and media & entertainment offerings on 5 continents, in 17 countries providing connections to hundreds of millions households. During his tenure as the leader of these firms created well over $2B in incremental enterprise value through profitable organic growth and targeted acquisitions.
Today through the PADEM Media Group he works in leadership and advisory roles, as well as a recognized global analyst with corporations developing, refining, marketing and deploying new IP delivered streaming TV/media engagement offerings, data economics and technology offerings which have been honed as corporate/entrepreneurial executive with hands-on experience gained through worldwide executive management, leadership and consulting roles (e.g.; Ericsson, Siemens/ATOS, Deluxe, Imagine, Microsoft, Rentrak, REAL, Net Insight, Disney, Toyota, LEXUS, McKinsey) with digital domain expertise and M&E services, technologies & platforms across the entire streaming ecosystem from content creation, distribution to accurate audience engagement and consumption.
Allan has over seven firsts in the evolution of digital media along with five patents in advanced advertising. He has been recognized as one of the most broadly informed and connected people in IP media and entertainment technology worldwide, recognized by the UK based global research corporation Informa’s KNECT365 as one of the “Global Connected 100” and impactful voices from 2014 through today and into 2020. He is an active member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (EMMY’S), Producers Guild of America, SMPTE and sits on the executive boards of IET/London and CEI (Center of Educational Innovation (NYC).
Prior to founding PADEM, McLennan was the founding president of Rentrak corporation (NASDAQ: RENT) AMI/Advanced Media and Information Division, a leading intelligence provider of media engagement and usage for the entertainment and television industries worldwide.
His participation on executive teams has created and built numerous firsts as SVP on the world’s first global IP on-demand (true OTT/VOD) subscription service in 2000 (3 million subscribers, 300,000 plays a month with a subscription fee of $9.95 – sound familiar?); EVP for the first advanced residential management STB (foundation for MSFT Media Center), first CD-ROM game (Lion King), Founding officer/VP worldwide marketing Worlds Inc. (world’s first 3-D, virtual reality (VR) multi user interactive worlds with Steven Spielberg on his Starbright world for seriously ill children). Allan also co-produced the first fully shot on mobile phone EMMY nominated TV Series “Africa Diary” for the SUNDANCE Cable Channel, as well as facilitated investment funding, mergers and acquisitions for a wide range of companies.
All told, he has been in the forefront of media and entertainment technology even during college years when he brought forth Sierra on-line games; met up in Palo Alto with a wild group of techs called Home Brew; then Digital Micro Systems on the first luggable; Yahoo Kid’s Board of Directors; Apple 2C launch; strategist on the global launch of LEXUS Automobiles; Ziff Davis/NYC publishing incubating technical magazines (PC Week/A+); associate publisher on Computer Graphics World; co-writer of WIRED Magazine’s initial business plan; as well as co-receiving one of the first NIST grants in AI spidering/Bot development over IP.
