Carlos Castañeda has held numerous positions in various companies since 2004. Carlos began their career as a Coordinador de Gestión Tecnológica at the Instituto de Investigación del Desarrollo Económico y Tecnológico in 2004. From 2006 to 2010, they served as an Asesor del programa de Desarrollo Territorial at the Banco Mundial, Asesor de Desarrollo Económico at the Municipio de Durango, and Director at the Consejo de Desarrollo Económico de Delicias. From 2010 to 2014, they were the CIO at the UNIVERSIDAD AUTONOMA DE CHIHUAHUA, Founder/CEO of the Computer Emergency Response Team State Government-University, and Founder/ Chief Executive at the Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship Uach-UC Berkeley. In 2016, they were the Chief Executive Officer at Black Labs where they led and inspired a team of talented people who sought to change the world by using technology. Carlos is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Pagando MX.

Carlos Castañeda has a diverse educational background. Carlos earned their Licenciatura in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua in 1999-2004. Carlos then went on to earn their M.E in International Economics from the same university in 2012-2014. In 2014-2015, they completed a Lean Startup program at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2016, they completed a Mastering Innovation & Design-Thinking program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Carlos then returned to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018 to complete an Engineering Leadership program in Engineering and Innovation. Finally, they are currently completing a Behavioral Finance program at the University of Chicago, which they are expected to finish in 2021.
