Faraj Farook

Faraj Farook's work experience begins in 2010 at IFS, where they initially worked as a Software Engineer before progressing to the role of Senior Software Engineer. During this time, they served as the Tech Lead for ERP projects and bank payment integration, as well as designing Field Service Management and Job Scheduling solutions.

In 2017, Faraj joined FLIP Group as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on building a cloud-based logistics management platform called oneflo.com.au. Faraj also played a key role in re-architecting legacy services into microservices.

Faraj then moved to carsales.com.au in 2018, where they first served as a Senior Software Engineer, developing backend APIs to support Angular and mobile clients. Faraj also contributed to the development of frontend websites, including carsales.com. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of Team Lead, leading the planning, execution, and delivery of a real-time market intelligence tool for car dealers called Live Market. Faraj also mentored and coached team members on their career goals and collaborated with product managers on planning and delivery.

Most recently, Faraj joined PageUp in 2020 as a Team Lead, responsible for leading a stream of multiple software development squads and overseeing the short to mid-term revenue growth. Faraj'srole included mentoring and coaching team leads, building high-performing and engaging teams, and prioritizing individual growth and happiness. In 2021, they were promoted to the role of Software Development Manager, where their focus expanded to include managing managers and ensuring alignment with stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional team members.

Faraj Farook has a diverse education history in various fields. Faraj obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Systems and Networking from Curtin University, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, from 2006 to 2010, Faraj pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with honors in Information Technology at SLIIT. Faraj also attended the University of Colombo from 2007 to 2011, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics and Statistics. Faraj further expanded their knowledge in the field of Accounting and Business Management, completing a CIMA certification from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants between 2012 and 2015. Before pursuing higher education, Faraj completed their high school education at Trinity College Kandy, specializing in Mathematics from 1993 to 2006.

In addition to their academic achievements, Faraj also holds several certifications. Faraj obtained an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from CIMA in 2014. Faraj also received a Cisco Certified Network Associate certification from Cisco in 2009. Furthermore, Faraj completed the Advanced Architecting on AWS certification, offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), although the specific year of completion is not mentioned.
