Klas Bäck

Klas Bäck has a diverse work experience in the payments and commerce industry. Klas is the CEO and Co-founder of Pagos Solutions, a company focused on reducing payments complexity and providing data insights for merchants. Prior to this, they were the Chairman of the Board at Tradera. Klas also co-founded a stealth startup and worked as a free agent, taking on various roles such as board/advisory roles and part-time senior management consulting.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Klas held leadership positions at PayPal and Braintree. At PayPal, they served as the Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, and Markets, leading the Growth and Transformation team for PayPal Enterprise Platform. Klas was responsible for expanding PayPal's platform offerings and driving business initiatives across 50 countries. At Braintree, they held multiple roles including Head of Business Development, Strategy, Markets, and Payments Optimization, and General Manager International and Payment Strategy. Klas played a key role in expanding Braintree's global operations, managing international offices, and driving payment optimization projects.

Prior to PayPal and Braintree, Klas worked as a Project Consultant and Advisor, providing payment and commerce strategy and execution support to various organizations including Square, Eventbrite, and start-ups in the US and Europe. Klas also worked as a Consultant and Advisor for FlyBy, a start-up focusing on frictionless online buying. Additionally, they served as a Payments Committee Member at the Merchant Risk Council, representing Digital River.

Before that, Klas held leadership positions at Digital River, where they were responsible for strategic business development, world payments, and global payments, enterprise payment solutions. Klas played a vital role in developing and bringing new business ideas and products to markets, closing deals, and managing client integration teams.

Klas Bäck attended Malmö Latinskola from 1986 to 1989. Klas did not obtain a degree or focus on any specific field of study during this time. Later, from 1991 to 1995, Klas studied at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and earned a M.Sc. degree in Engineering.
