Pahle India is dedicated to the task of taking India to the top rung of country economic rankings in the world within this century. The aim is to contribute to the needed paradigm shift in development thinking and practices in India to achieve this aspirational goal. Pahle India's mission is to contribute innovative ideas for designing the road map for India becoming a high-income country by 2050 when it celebrates the centenary of the Republic. In designing this road map it roots itself in the Indian experience; draws upon the globally best available economic, social and political analysis on sustainable prosperity; and draws lessons from success stories of sustainable development from within India. Pahle India's highly qualified team of researchers specialises in analysing India's political economy and its interaction with the global economic trends. Its researchers have done extensive work on preparing vision documents and development blueprints for political parties and state governments. It has expertise in a range of sectors including education. It will now work on preparing road maps to sustainable prosperity by 2050 for each of the states of India with particular emphasis on replicating the successful development experiences particularly in education and health from different parts of India. These Road Maps/Blueprints will be made freely available to researchers and policy makers. The objective is also to make Pahle India a dynamic portal of case studies successful development within India and place them in the public domain to encourage wider learning. The portal will also include interactive state-level data base for facilitating cross-state comparisons and drawing relevant lessons for the future.
