Lead Robot Support Technician

PaintJet is redefining the industrial painting market by introducing advanced robotics, AI and material sciences to optimize the coating process. Our automated approach tackles the systemic labor shortage by focusing on increasing painter productivity and precision application while reducing material waste. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Robot Support Technician to join our dynamic team. The primary role of the Lead Robot Support Technician is to become the primary contact point to resolve hardware and software issues as we deploy our robots nationwide. You will also be responsible for the effective integration of our PaintJet robots throughout field operations. Your efforts will be vital as we scale operations to keep up with our rapid growth.

The Impact You'll Make in This Role:

The Robot Deployment Field Technician is a highly visible role internally, responsible for helping PaintJet become an exponentially scalable organization. In this position, you will have a direct impact on the company’s deployment and scaling of our robotic systems. You will work closely with both operations and engineering ensuring not only the uptime of our robot systems in the field, but directly impacting engineering activities ensuring our robotic solution is both reliable and usable.

You will have frequent contact both with national operation, and our international engineering teams.

Note:

• You must be able to obtain a public trust security clearance, upwards to a Secret Clearance preferably.
• This job will require occasionally extended travel (2-4 weeks) each quarter to Taiwan or Poland, as well as travel within the USA. International travel (15-20%), National travel (30-40%).

As Pain****tJet’s Lead Robot Support Technician, you will:

• Be responsible for the repair and maintenance of field robot systems, often without the benefit of repair or maintenance guides.
• Develop repair and maintenance processes and documentation.
• Manage the end-to-end deployment process of robotic painting systems for large-scale industrial applications, including warehouses, storage tanks, and marine vessels.
• Work closely with technical teams, and train field personnel to ensure successful implementation and operation of our robotic solutions in large-scale industrial settings.
• Collaborate with field personnel to ensure our robotic systems fulfill their needs
• Develop and execute deployment plans, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of robotic systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, software development, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of robotic solutions.
• Conduct site assessments and prepare the environment for robotic system installation.
• Oversee the setup, calibration, and testing of robotic systems to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Provide training and support on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems
• Monitor deployed systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary improvements.

• Exceptional ability to quickly identify and resolve electrical mechanical problems in the field (which may include working construction sites, oil and gas farms, and shipyards).
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics in order to diagnose problems.
• Technical understanding of electrical-mechanical systems including sensors, motors, etc.
• Ability to perform simple field repairs (electrical: soldering, cable and harness repair, sensor replacements; and mechanical).
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills across all organizational levels
• Can-do mindset with the ability to multitask and maintain composure during stressful situations
• High aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail

Education & Work Related Experience

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
• Proven experience in deploying and managing robotic systems (or complex electro-mechanical systems) in commercial or industrial settings
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Technical proficiency in robotic systems, including programming, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to industrial automation and robotic systems.

Target Salary Range:$70,000 - $90,000 annually

Work Hours: This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours for Taiwan

Work Location: Remote

Travel Requirements: Travel within the U.S. and internationally (45-60%)
