Jeff Melsha

Jeff Melsha taught bands in Missouri for 30 years, most recently serving as Director of Bands for the Kirkwood School District until his retirement in 2018. Previously, he served band programs at Northwest High School, University City High School, and the Monroe City School District. For the past five summers, Jeff has traveled to Washington D.C. meeting with U.S. Senators and Representatives advocating for music education on behalf of Missouri’s music teachers.

Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jeff earned a Master of Music Education from Southeast Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Central Missouri. He served as President of the Missouri Association for Jazz Education and is the immediate Past President of the Missouri Music Educators Association.

Jeff joined the Palen Music Center team in St. Louis during the summer of 2018.
