Rebecca Schimke has a diverse range of work experience. Rebecca has worked at Palermo's Pizza since 2017, starting as a Marketing Coordinator and currently holding the position of Public Relations & Events Manager. In these roles, they have supported marketing initiatives, managed retailer programs and promotions, and handled social media promotions.

Prior to their time at Palermo's Pizza, Rebecca worked at the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County as a Public Relations and Social Media Specialist from 2015 to 2017. Rebecca was responsible for driving strategic impact in Education, Income, and Health through mobilizing resources and people.

Before that, Rebecca served as a Communications Manager at the United Way in Waukesha County from 2012 to 2015. Their work focused on raising and distributing funds for health and human service programs, as well as connecting volunteers with opportunities for lasting change.

Rebecca also has experience in museum and cultural institutions. Rebecca worked as a Curator of Collections at The National Speedskating Museum and Hall of Fame from 2011 to 2012, and as a Museum Technician at Harley-Davidson Motor Company from 2008 to 2012.

Prior to their roles in museums, Rebecca worked as an Admissions Associate at the Milwaukee Public Museum in 2010. Rebecca also had internships at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee as a Curator Intern in 2010 and at the Milwaukee Public Museum as part of the IMLS Grant Project in 2007.

Rebecca's earliest work experience was as the Vice President of Social Programming for the Residence Hall Association at the University of Wisconsin - Superior from 2003 to 2004.

Rebecca Schimke began their education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where they received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Sociology. Rebecca attended the university from 2001 to 2005. Following their undergraduate studies, Rebecca pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Rebecca completed their master's program from 2007 to 2009.

Aside from their formal education, Rebecca has also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they received the "Darkness to Light" certification from Stewards of Children. In 2020, they attended the "Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Conference" organized by MRA - The Management Association. Moreover, in the same year, they completed the "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for All" certification through LinkedIn. More recently, in 2023, Rebecca obtained two additional certifications: "Social Media Marketing - Industry Specialist" from Meltwater and "ServSafe Food Handler" from the National Restaurant Association.
