Sarel Pieterse

Sarel Pieterse joined the Pallinghurst Group as an Associate on the investment team and leads the Group’s metallurgical analysis. Prior to joining Pallinghurst, Sarel worked for Sedibelo Platinum Mines in South Africa during which time he held various positions as a Project Manager, Metallurgist and Process Engineer.

Sarel provides significant industry and technical insight to the Group through his past experience in managing metallurgical projects, optimising processes to maximise production and designing processing plants within the metals and minerals industry. Following his move to London, Sarel has been able to share this invaluable expertise to further the Group’s projects.

Sarel graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Chemical Engineering, specialising in metallurgical engineering. Additionally, he earned qualifications from the University of Cape Town in Hydrometallurgy, Ion-Exchange Resin Technology as well as a PMI accredited qualification in Project Management.
