Steve Benton has a diverse work experience in the construction materials industry. Steve started their career with Oldcastle in 1994 as the Director of Safety & Risk Management, where they were responsible for safety, health, and risk management for all operations. Steve later served as the Operations Manager and the Regional General Manager, overseeing acquisitions and daily operations. In 2009, they became the General Manager of Clemente Latham Concrete, a division of Callanan Industries. Steve then moved on to become the Vice President of the Ready Mix Division, where they had executive P&L responsibility. During their time at Oldcastle, Benton also worked as the Co-Chairman of the National Safety Best Practice Committee, promoting safety and health initiatives. In 2013, they joined Oldcastle's subsidiary, Callanan Industries, as the Co-Chairman of the NE Division Readymix Performance Committee. In 2016, Benton joined DA Collins Companies as the Asphalt Division Manager, where they had full P&L responsibility over four plants. In 2019, they joined Peckham Industries, Inc. as the Corporate Director of Safety.
Steve Benton attended Saratoga Central Catholic High School from 1986 to 1990, where they received a Regents degree. Steve then pursued further education at Colgate University from 1990 to 1994, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. At Colgate University, their field of study focused on Political Science and Education.
