Reed Wilson

Founder & CEO at Palmetto Technology Group

Reed Wilson founded Palmetto Technology Group in 2007, when he saw that many small- and medium-sized companies were experiencing productivity challenges, security issues, and downtime due to relying on onsite servers and slow or outdated systems. His vision was to help make companies more productive, more secure, and smarter about how they spend their IT dollars.

Under Reed’s leadership, Palmetto Technology Group has grown substantially. The company now also consults with clients to solve a variety of business challenges related to IT and management, based on PTG’s experience and successes. PTG has won numerous awards, including the Microsoft Southeast Region Cloud Partner of the Year 2013, 2015, 2016 and the 2017 MSPmentor 501 Top IT Managed Service Providers.

Reed offers the following two recommendations to business owners: “1. Join a peer group to get insights from other business owners. 2. Read every day. A couple of business books that have really impacted him are Mastering the Rockefeller Habits and Simple Numbers, Big Profits! The latter is a great book for understanding your numbers in your business.”

Bill McCrary, a colleague, has this to say about Reed: “As evidenced by the many awards that his company continues to receive, Reed is one of those business owners who is a master at identifying and applying concepts and best practices that make a measurable difference.”
