Joseph Olheiser, a CPA, CIA, and CISA, has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Joseph currently serves as the Director of Internal Audit at Palomar Holdings, Inc., a high-growth specialty insurance company. In this role, Joseph collaborates with executive leadership to implement and maintain the organization's SOX 404b documentation and testing program. Joseph also manages the outsourced internal audit function, trains control participants, and ensures compliance.

Prior to Palomar, Joseph worked as a Principal Consultant at EndeavorOne Consulting, LLC, where they focused on SOX compliance, internal audit, IT audit, finance, and process improvement. During their tenure, they successfully implemented and enhanced SOX compliance and internal audit cycles, recommended application-based controls, and managed ERP access and permissions.

Joseph's experience also includes working as a SOX/IA/GRC Project Manager at Nortek Security & Control, where they led the SOX Analysis team and performed tests of internal controls. Joseph directly reported test results to the VP Finance and Corporate Controller and supervised audit staff.

Before their consultancy roles, Joseph gained valuable experience as an Audit Senior at Deloitte and Assurance Senior Associate at CliftonLarsonAllen. Joseph also served as an Auditor II at the State of Wyoming and as a motorcycle mechanic at the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

Joseph's diverse work experience also includes owning and operating Eugene Built, a cabinetry and furniture business. Additionally, they served as a Logistics Specialist in the US Army, where they coordinated transportation and managed civilian contractors during combat operations.

Joseph Olheiser received their Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Wyoming in 2010. Prior to that, they earned an AA degree in Business from Paradise Valley Community College, completing their studies in 2007. In addition to their education, Joseph has obtained various certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Arizona Board of Accountancy in 2014, Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) from ISACA in 2016, and Certified Public Accountant from the California Board of Accountancy in 2018. Joseph is currently pursuing the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification from the IIA-The Institute of Internal Auditors, with an expected completion year of 2023.
