Cara Reed

Cara Reed, APRN, MSN, CNS has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Cara started their career in 1996 as an Advanced Practice Nurse at Geisinger Health, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they also served as the Chief of Geriatrics at Veteran Administration from 2013 to 2016.

In 2015, Cara joined Golden LivingCenters as the Director of Nursing Services, and later worked as the Director of Nursing at Post Acute Medical in 2017. Cara then transitioned into education and became a Health Occupations Educator at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County in 2017.

Cara's most recent work experience includes being a Community Health Care Manager at Geisinger Health Plan in 2018, and an Independent Consultant in 2019. In addition to their professional experience, they served as an Associate Professor at the University of Scranton from 2004 to 2005.

Cara Reed, APRN, MSN, CNS holds a Master's degree in Clinical Nurse Specialist, which they obtained from Wilkes University in 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing at Wilkes University from 1992 to 1995. In 2017, Cara pursued further education in the field of Vocational Education at Temple University College of Education and Human Development.
