Richard Tan has had a diverse range of work experiences. Richard started their career as a Management/Systems Consultant at Accenture from April 1997 to August 2000. Following that, they worked at Fidelity Investments as a Manager of Quantitative Development from May 2002 to January 2006. Richard then joined Wellington Management as an Analyst from January 2006 to July 2008. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Stock Selector Equity at PanAgora Asset Management since July 2008. In this role, they manage large and small cap funds totaling about $10 billion. Richard also actively recruits and hires graduate students with programming skills for quantitative equity research projects.

Richard Tan's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which they completed from 1993 to 1997. Richard then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Rutgers University, from 2000 to 2002. After that, they attended the Boston College Carroll School of Management and earned an MBA in Finance, completing their studies in 2008.
