Jared Zerbe

CEO at Panama Ports Company

Jared Zerbe is the current CEO at Panama Ports Company. Zerbe previously worked as the Executive Director of the International Division and Chief Development Officer at CMPort from December 2010 to July 2016. In this role, they managed a portfolio of 18 port operating companies in 10 countries and led international development for the third-largest port operator/developer globally. Zerbe also served on the board of directors for 12 different port operating companies, including Modern Terminals Limited and Terminal Link SAS.

During their time at CMPort, Zerbe was responsible for expanding the company's operations into new international markets. Specific projects that they oversaw and led to completion include a USD 550 million equity investment in CMA CGM's subsidiary, Terminal Link. Terminal Link is a port operating company with over 15 terminals globally. Zerbe also developed China Merchants' strategy in strengthening relationships with key customers through investment to provide long-term security, such as with the company's largest customer, CMA CGM.

Since joining Panama Ports Company as CEO, Zerbe has been instrumental in overseeing the construction of a new container terminal which is set to open in 2020. The new terminal will be one of the largest and most technologically advanced in the region.

Jared Zerbe obtained a certificate in English law from BPP Law School London. Jared then went on to obtain a Juris Doctor in International Banking Law from Boston University School of Law. After that, they completed a Masters of Public and International Affairs with a focus in International Economics from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Lastly, they obtained certification from The Law Society in Solicitor England & Wales.
