Matt Tanner

Turbomachinery Lead at Pangea Aerospace

Matt Tanner has worked in the field of engineering since 2015. In 2015, they were a Research Assistant at the University of St Andrews, where they created a new design methodology for developing smooth-walled antennas. Matt was also the President of the Saints Engineering Group, which they founded at the University of St Andrews. In 2016, Matt was a Turbopump Characterization Project at Purdue University, where they identified stress points on impeller and casing design, and manufactured the pump volute on a 5-Axis CNC. From 2018-2021, Matt held various roles in the engineering field, including Turbomachinery Mechanical Designer at PLD Space, Propulsion Development Intern at Ursa Major Technologies, and Rocket Propulsion Engineer at Upshot Ventures. In 2021, they became a Turbomachinery Design & Development Engineer - Contractor at BLUE ORIGIN. Currently, Matt is a Turbomachinery Lead and Turbomachinery Engineer at Pangea Aerospace.

Matt Tanner received a Bachelor's degree in Physics (BSc) from the University of St Andrews in 2016. Matt then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering at Purdue University, which they completed in 2018.
